The BMW N54 single turbo engine is equipped with a TORQAMP after the intercooler via a by-pass valve.
By adding a TorqAmp the intake manifold pressure is increased and so more exhaust gas flow is present resulting in the turbo spooling up at lower rpms.
De Witte Autotechniek used the factory ecu to fine tune the injection and ignition timing.
The results are shown in the graphs below. The low end torque is increased significantly and the turbo spools much faster resulting in no turbo lag.
